Encouraging Digital Balance and Human Connection Among Young Minds
World Digital Detox Day (WDDD) extends its heartfelt gratitude to Bunts Sangha’s Arathi Shetty Icon School, Mumbai, for supporting its mission to promote digital wellness and taking an important first step towards building a safer, healthier digital future for young people.

On 29 October 2026, the school hosted a Digital Wellness Awareness Session led by Aadya Shinde, World Digital Detox Day’s Youngest Youth Ambassador from India. The session encouraged students to reflect on their digital habits and understand the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between technology use and real-world experiences.
Through relatable examples and practical guidance, students explored simple ways to build healthier screen habits, take mindful breaks from devices, prioritise face-to-face conversations, enjoy offline activities and strengthen their connections with family, friends and the world around them.

From Awareness to Action
As digital devices become an increasingly significant part of young people's lives, schools have an important role to play in helping students develop responsible and mindful technology habits. The session reinforced a simple yet powerful message: technology should enrich our lives, not replace the human experiences that make life meaningful.
WDDD sincerely appreciates the school leadership and teachers for welcoming this initiative and providing students with an opportunity to engage in this important conversation. The school's participation represents more than a single awareness session; it is a meaningful step towards making digital wellness an integral part of education and youth development.

Advancing the WDDD Movement
World Digital Detox Day continues to expand its efforts through awareness sessions, youth engagement, educational activities, competitions and collaborations with institutions and communities. By bringing digital wellness conversations into schools, WDDD aims to empower young people to become responsible digital citizens and active advocates for healthier technology habits.
This initiative also reflects WDDD’s 2026 global theme, “Digital Balance, Human Connection,” under the broader message “Time for Humanity.” The movement encourages people to step away from screens, reconnect with one another and recognise the value of giving their time and attention to others.
As part of its 2026 global initiative, the WDDD Human Time Bank invites people to donate one hour of their time to meaningful human connection, care and community participation.
The session at Arathi Shetty Icon School marks another step in WDDD’s ongoing journey to turn digital wellness awareness into meaningful action. The organisation looks forward to engaging more schools, educators, students and communities in this shared mission.
Together, let us help young people grow with technology while staying connected to humanity.
