Inclusive Wellness – Visually Impaired & Transgender Youth

Wellness for the Visually Impaired (2012 Onward)
In one of its earliest inclusive programs, ZEP Foundation launched a special training module for blind children, offering them a chance to build dignity and livelihood through reflexology and therapeutic massage.
Key elements included:
- Customized training in foot reflexology and relaxation therapy
- Hands-on sessions with certified spa educators
- Live stalls at community events and housing societies for real-time income
- Support from industry sponsors including JCKRC & Co.

This model proved that children with disabilities, when given the right tools and confidence, can excel as professionals in wellness services—earning not just money but self-respect and visibility.
Cross-Gender Skilling for Transgender Communities
ZEP Foundation also launched a cross-gender skilling initiative, addressing the lack of dignified employment avenues for transgender individuals. Under this model:
- Transgender youth were trained in spa therapy, grooming, and beauty wellness
- Focus was placed on respect, employability, and emotional integration
- Graduates were placed in inclusive salons, wellness centers, and hotels
- The initiative sent a powerful message: Wellness can be a bridge to social equality
Through these two transformative models, ZEP Foundation redefined what wellness can mean—it’s not only about health, but also belonging, dignity, and purpose for all.
This platform has helped hundreds of women transition from “helpers” to entrepreneurs and from “recipients” to creators of value in the wellness ecosystem.
